Our first dinner in Paso Robles during our Oct 1-3, 2023, getaway was at La Cosecha Bar & Restaurant. It’s a restaurant that serves creative Spanish and Latin American dishes, plus craft cocktails, in a warm and relaxed ambiance.

La Cosecha offers “culture-specific, specialized Latin flavors by sourcing herbs and spices from each dish’s nation of origin, while taking advantage of the farmer’s market-fresh produce, meats, and cheeses of California’s abundant Central Coast.”

Maita and I left the ER around 4:30 pm (more on that in my next story) and we had dinner reservations at 6:30 pm. We had just enough time to go check in to our hotel room, change and freshen up a bit and head to the restaurant. We arrived at 7 pm, 1/2 hour late, not bad considering. As we left the ER there was a really nice sunset.

Of course, we told our friends to go on and start without us, so when we arrived, all the food was there ready to eat. They ordered scallops, seafood paella, mushroom flatbread and a nice medium rare ribeye with potatoes. I wasn’t really that hungry, so I ordered some toast with butter. That was perfect! And Brian brought a 2008 Rare Champagne, I couldn’t pass up a glass of that now could I? Excellent champagne, I recently purchased some for the next special occasion! Brian also brought a 2018 Paul Lato, Peake Ranch Vineyard, Pinot Noir.

We ended the dinner with a nice apple tart dessert and candle #2 for Maita to make another wish!
